Marie Josephe Rose de Tascher de la Pagerie de Beauharnais - Josephine was only her nickname given to her by Napoléon Bonaparte – had a dream career. She was born as a daughter of a poor plantation owner on the island of Martinique and against all odds became the empress of France. Josephine and Napoléon, 'the great lovers in history' were not always so much in love and there were many conflicts between them.
